SR: Website: New Merchandise!

Today I created a new T-Shirt for our website. At the beginning when we wanted to create Throne we wanted to include a wolf in our music video. However, we quickly discovered that it would be really hard to do and therefore I decided to add one on the T-Shirt with the lyrics "You can throw me to the wolves", as a reference to the lyrics.
The wolf I got from tumblr from someone who had drawn it. I thought it was the ideal picture because it was combined with grey and blue colors compared to loads of other wolves that were drawn in pencil or with pink reddish color.

This is a screen recording I did, while creating the T-Shirt, it was also a fundamental Tutorial of how to use the basic tools of Photoshop.

KO: WEBSITE: More merchandise

We have added 3 new merchandise for our website, Bronwen created two: the dog tags and a snap-back hat and I created a "That's The Spirit" vinyl. I also change the layout of the merch page so there are 3 products on each row and doing this is fixed a problem we had with the phone covers not showing what color they where as it was previously cropped but changing the layout fixed this. We are still planing to add more merch the main one being the Digipak.

The design for the Vinyl was inspired by the actual "That's The Spirit" Vinyl. The actual vinyl has the name of the album so what I did when I created it I added the logo Bronwen created and filled the cover of the vinyl with the logo. 

KO: MERCHANDISE: More ideas

At the moment we have a 2 iPhone cases and 4 T-Shirts as merchandise for our merch shop. To expand on this here are some more ideas of what we hope to add to the store.

Ring: We think having a ring with the band logo on it will be a unique merch as not a lot of bands sell the. The ring will resemble that of a collage ring with a flat top so the logo can be placed.

Dog tags: Dog tag Jewellery is very common among rock bands and so we thought they would be a good addition to our store. The design at the moment is the letters BMTH going down the tag. We might create more designs as we go along. 

Baby merch: As BMTH have been around for many years, people that have been a fan for a long time might have children and therefor baby/child merch is very popular. The merch will be the same as the T-shirts just in baby clothes. 

KO: WEBSITE: Merchandise

For our website we created a merch site. In the merch site you can choose to buy merchandise that we have created for the band Bring Me The Horizon. Bronwen created the logo for the band as well as created the merch. At the moment we have six different merch items, 2 iPhone cases (black, white), 2 T-Shirts with a heart on it (Black, White) and 2 T-Shirts with the logo on (a small logo and a big logo). The reasons for using iPhone cases is beacuse most people own an iPhone and cases are very useful and because they are so small and cheap they are very often bought by fans.

When you first open the merch page you will see the six different products you can buy. When i am in the editing tool I can add new good or edit existing ones.

When I click on a product it lets me add new or more pictures of the product and rename the product.

I can also change a lot of other things such as the price of the good, if the good is on sale or not, if the good is Out of Stock, the size on clothing and more.

SR: INDUSTRY: Merchandise

For our website we also need to come up with ideas for merchandising. Therefore we looked through different bands such as the ones we blogged on for social media and ofcourse also Bring Me The Horizon themselves.

Nowadays, bands sell merchandise to get an extra income. They dont earn as much from concert tickets or CD sales anymore since it is easier for people to stream or pirate music. 

On Bring Me The Horizon's official website, there are quite a lot of merchandise that are available to purchase. These include:

When Bring Me The Horizon performed at the Rock A Field music festival here in Luxembourg, they couldn't include all of their merchandise, because there are loads of bands that are trying to sell their merchandise at a festival. Therefore, they include the most important merchandise that people are guaranteed to buy at a festival such as T-Shirts, Jumpers, Caps and with time, bands have started to sell phones cases on festivals as well, since a lot of people have smartphones nowadays.
The merchandise on their website are not just the typical T-Shirt or Hoodie, but include backpacks, phone cases, watches and many other things, which you can view on their  website.

Fall out Boy, had quite different merchandise from Bring Me The Horizon. Their merchandise included these bobbleheads with the names of the band members on the small platform the bobbleheads are standing on. This can be purchased for 50$. However, the band is being portrayed as quite "Hipster" with the look that they have such as the hat on Patrick's head. They could have included the band members holding guitars or having Joe sit by the drumkit on the platform. On the website you can also buy as well as other T-Shirts, jumpers and wall flags.

Rise Against merchandise is more focused on different types of T-Shirts, such as for example this one with the cover from Rise Against newest digipack on there. They were however also the first of the three bands where I saw the CD in the store. The two other bands had quite a lot of merchandise, but their CD's weren't included. Whereas Rise Against included both CD but also Vinyl of their newest album The Black Market.

MISE-EN-SCENE: Baby Grow

This is the babygrow that I created using Adobe Photoshop CS5. I took our logo and layered it over the center. I then used the blending and paint tools to make it fit seamlessly and look convincing. 

I think that a babygrow is a good piece of merchandise to have in the store on our website. There are older fans of Bring Me The Horizon who have liked their music from the very beginning. These fans will now be older than the new fans and therefore it is very important to engage them and attract them.
